KOMPETENSI GURU MENURUT KH. YASIN ASYMUNI:
RELEVANSINYA DENGAN KODE ETIK GURU INDONESIA
Abstract
The role of educators in the field of education is highly significant. However, many educators still fail to demonstrate the ethics or competencies required to meet professional standards. This highlights the need for a comprehensive study of teachers' personality competencies as professional educators in alignment with the teacher code of ethics. In Indonesia, the teacher code of ethics was formulated during the XVI PGRI Congress in 1989. Additionally, KH. Yasin Asymuni, a prominent Indonesian Muslim scholar, has also emphasized the importance of teacher competence. In his seminal work Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'allim, KH. Yasin Asymuni outlines the core principles of values and attitudes that an educator should embody. This study aims to explore the conceptualization of teacher competence according to KH. Yasin Asymuni and analyze its relevance to the Indonesian teacher code of ethics. Using a literature-based research approach, Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'allim serves as the primary reference. Data collection was carried out through documentation and subsequently analyzed using the content analysis method. The findings reveal that KH. Yasin Asymuni's concept of teacher competence emphasizes religious values and noble character as foundational elements. He identifies three essential competencies for educators: ethical responsibility towards their knowledge, ethical conduct in teaching and learning processes, and ethical behavior towards their students. This framework aligns closely with the Indonesian teacher code of ethics, particularly in supporting the achievement of national education goals and aspirations.
