Synergy of Collaborative and Participatory Leadership in Realizing an Adaptive School at SD Alam Muhammadiyah Banjarbaru
Abstract
This research aims to analyze the synergy of collaborative and participatory leadership in realizing an adaptive school at SD Alam Muhammadiyah Banjarbaru. This research is motivated by the demands of 21st-century education, which require schools to adapt to technological developments, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, and the changing needs of students. In addition, studies on the integration of collaborative and participatory leadership in nature-based elementary schools are still relatively limited, making it important to conduct this research as a contribution to the development of educational leadership. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were obtained thru in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of school principals, teachers, and educational staff selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted thru the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing using an interactive analysis model, while data validity was tested thru source and technique triangulation. The research results show that the synergy of collaborative and participative leadership is realized thru open communication, teacher involvement in decision-making, joint evaluations, a culture of cooperation, and active participation of school members in educational development. The implementation of such leadership has resulted in the formation of an organizational culture that is democratic, flexible, innovative, and responsive to changes in education. The character of an adaptive school is reflected thru the flexibility of environment-based learning, openness to educational innovations, active involvement of teachers in school development, and responsiveness to the needs of students. This study concludes that the integration of collaborative and participative leadership is an effective leadership approach in building adaptive schools in the modern education era. Subsequent research is recommended to expand the study to various types of schools using a quantitative or mixed methods approach to obtain a more comprehensive understanding.
