Manuscript Type

Al-Ghazali: Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan Islam dan Studi Islam welcomes scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Islamic education, Islamic studies, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal considers manuscripts that demonstrate originality, academic rigor, methodological appropriateness, and relevance to its aims and scope. All submissions must comply with the journal's publication ethics, editorial policies, and author guidelines.

1. Research Articles

Research articles present original findings that contribute to the development of Islamic education, Islamic studies, and related fields. Manuscripts should identify a clear research problem, establish an appropriate theoretical or conceptual foundation, employ a suitable research methodology, and provide a critical interpretation of the findings.

Research may adopt qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches, depending on the research objectives and questions. Relevant methods may include surveys, interviews, observations, case studies, document analysis, textual analysis, and statistical procedures. Research articles should generally include an abstract, introduction, literature review or theoretical framework, research methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, and references, as appropriate to the nature of the study.

2. Review Articles

Review articles critically evaluate and synthesize existing scholarly literature on topics related to Islamic education, Islamic studies, or their intersections with other academic disciplines. These manuscripts should present a coherent overview of the relevant body of knowledge, examine significant scholarly debates, identify research gaps, and suggest directions for future investigation.

Depending on their objectives, review articles may employ narrative, systematic, scoping, or other appropriate review methodologies. Authors are expected to draw on relevant and credible academic sources, describe their review procedures when applicable, and provide a critical synthesis that advances understanding beyond a descriptive summary of previous studies.

3. Case Studies

Case studies offer an in-depth analysis of a particular phenomenon, institution, community, educational practice, religious experience, or social context relevant to Islamic education and Islamic studies. Such manuscripts may examine educational institutions, teaching practices, religious traditions, community engagement, cultural dynamics, or other subjects that fall within the journal's scope.

Authors should explain the significance of the case, describe its context and investigative methods, and develop an evidence-based analysis supported by relevant theoretical perspectives and scholarly literature. Case studies must maintain academic objectivity, demonstrate appropriate methodological rigor, and adhere to applicable research ethics. When research involves human participants or sensitive information, authors must protect confidentiality and comply with relevant ethical requirements.

4. Correspondence to the Editors

Correspondence to the editors provides an opportunity for scholarly discussion of issues relevant to Islamic education, Islamic studies, and the journal's broader academic interests. Contributions may include reasoned responses to previously published articles, critical academic observations, clarifications of scholarly arguments, or concise discussions that encourage further intellectual exchange.

Submissions should be focused, concise, evidence-based, and presented in a respectful academic manner. Correspondence concerning a previously published article should clearly identify the article under discussion and explain the principal points raised. Other contributions may be considered when they offer a meaningful perspective on issues within the journal's scope.

All correspondence is subject to editorial assessment. The editorial team reserves the right to make appropriate revisions to improve clarity, conciseness, and consistency of style while preserving the author's intended meaning.
